01 The story, in three paragraphs

Why everyone keeps coming back.

Nestled in the heart of Bandar Seri Putra, Selangor, Restoran Thaqwa Classic is a beloved Malaysian restaurant that serves up an authentic mamak dining experience with flair. This cozy eatery is a treasure trove for lovers of local flavors, offering a diverse menu that spans the comforting to the indulgently spicy.

At Restoran Thaqwa Classic, the star attractions are undoubtedly the vibrant Goreng-Mamak dishes. Their Maggi Goreng Vegetable Fried (MYR 7.50) bursts with the freshness of crisp vegetables enveloped in springy, stir-fried instant noodles, delivering a delightful balance of texture and flavor with every bite. For those seeking a heartier option, the Maggi Goreng Ayam (MYR 13.60) impresses with its aromatic spices, tender chicken, and perfectly cooked egg, marrying spice and savor in an inviting dance on the palate. Don't miss out on the classic Nasi Goreng (MYR 8.60), a dish that resonates with many Malaysians for its simple yet tantalizing fried rice infused with bold seasonings.

The restaurant also shines with its signature Rojak options. From the crunchy, nutty Rojak Mee (MYR 9.25) to the more substantial Rojak Ayam (MYR 14.00) adorned with tender chicken slices and crunchy accompaniments, each serving is a vibrant celebration of Malaysia’s rich culinary tapestry. The delicate balance of tangy, sweet, and savory in their peanut sauce truly elevates these dishes beyond the ordinary.

Beverage lovers will find solace in the authentically brewed Teh Tarik or the iconic 3 Layer Tea (MYR 7.54), a Malaysian classic featuring palm sugar syrup, evaporated milk, and tea, poured with the perfect gradient that’s as pleasing to the eye as it is to the taste buds. The beverages complement the food effortlessly, rounding out your meal with smooth, aromatic richness.

The ambience here is thoughtfully crafted to enhance your dining experience: spacious, airy, and well-ventilated, it offers a relaxed setting perfect for casual gatherings and leisurely “lepak” sessions with friends. Customers have praised the inviting atmosphere where no smoking ensures a clean and comfortable environment. Friendly and efficient service by staff like Anney only adds warmth and professionalism to your visit, making each meal not just nourishment but a pleasant memory in the making.

What truly stands out from the authentic customer voices is the unpretentious quality combined with true Malaysian mamak charm. From the crispy garlic naan and fluffy, flaky roti canai to the cleanliness and thoughtful touches such as air fresheners in the restrooms, every detail speaks volumes about their care for customer satisfaction. After trying their garlic cheese naan, tandoori specials, and rich, comforting cups of milo ice, it’s easy to see why patrons keep coming back for over a decade.

Whether you’re a local craving a taste of home or a curious traveler eager to experience genuine Malaysian mamak fare, Restoran Thaqwa Classic offers an authentic culinary journey that engages your senses and warms your soul. Tuck into their flavorful dishes, soak up the welcoming atmosphere, and savor each moment in a place where tradition meets heartfelt hospitality.

Thaqwa Restaurant has been my top choice of mamak franchise. My wife really liked thier tosai garing. Service is definitely fast and of course they have a lot of options in the menu to choose from. Their baby maggi goreng also good. I need to credit their toilet’s cleanliness. Not only clean but also they put air freshener. Price is average and staff were all doing their job fast. Definitely a good mamak restaurant for you guys to dig in.

Been here a few times but first time review. Roti nan garlic is crispy with lots of garlic. Roti canai is crispy, roti bawang is excellent. They are not stingy with milo powder in its milo o ais. Teh tarik is good with not so sweet and its teh is strong and milky. Will come again.

Better seating area after the renovation (looks modern and refreshing as well). Also clean. During non-peak hours, the service is fast and good. But during peak hours and public holidays, seems like the order will be a bit berterabur (some order missed out). Overall, our usual mamak around this area.

Verdict: I will repeat this restaurant. Its late night operating hours, which are few and far between in the area. While the food is average, the service is exceptional and the atmosphere is cozy, especially at night. Food: - Roti Canai: 6/10. It was decent, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. - Mee Goreng: 6/10. The noodle is nicely fried, but the taste could have been better. - Indo Mee: 8/10. A simple and enjoyable instant noodle served with a sunny egg. - Fried Chicken: 10/10. Fresh, juicy, and taste amazing. Note: Fried noodles take longer than usual to prepare.

Good food but a bit pricey compared to other mamaks here. They have their signature plates & services. Guess the prices equalizes here. Naan cheese was very soft & filled with good amt of cheese. The tandoori went along well with it. Maggi goreng was done according to my request - kurang pedas. The only thing I wasn't happy about is their Signature Teh - which was basically tea with fresh milk. Taste wise, it was good but it came in a kopitiam cup & saucer which was quite small for the price. I will recommend this place for their nasi kandar & kurma ayam .
